Vision

Lavina Liburd, Architect (formerly TigerQi Architecture) is a boutique design firm with a Vision to provide elegant Contemporary Architecture to the wider Caribbean region. We specialize in a contemporary design approach which embraces simplicity and minimalism, but which also respects the environment and incorporates regional building traditions. Our office works on mid-scale projects in all sectors, crafting unique and responsive leisure, corporate, residential and other spaces that go above and beyond the standard building experience.

Mission

The firm’s Mission is to focus on creating Healthy Buildings, optimizing Hillside Living and realizing Architecture which is of Service to the wider community.

Healthy Buildings – Healthy buildings support the physical, psychological, and social health and well-being of their occupants. We pay particular attention to the foundations of healthy building and the details of execution, to ensure the best result.

Hillside Living – Practicing primarily in the rugged terrain of the British Virgin Islands, Lavina Liburd, Architect has particular expertise in working with steeply sloped sites to minimize costs while maximizing views, light, thermal comfort and the overall experience of living well.

Architecture of Service – We have a particular passion for, and expertise in the design of schools, clinics, youth centers and other highly technical building types which serve the community as a whole

Services

Our areas of service include Architecture, Interior Architecture, Master Planning, and Urban Design.  We have worked on a variety of project types including Medical Facilities, Educational buildings, Commercial Office buildings, Condominiums, Custom Homes, and luxury Vacation Villas.  Through our industry relationships we are able to provide or facilitate complete services for projects including Structural Engineering, Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing Engineering, Pool Design, Construction Cost Estimating, Design/Build, Interior Design and Construction, Environmentally Conscious Design and LEED Certification.

Lavina Liburd Architect also offers pre-packaged plan sets for a speedier and more economical service.  We have developed a line of homes which work on general principles including degree of slope, efficiency of space, and quality of design, which are adaptable to different sites and can be modified to reflect the client’s preferred aesthetic.  Some of the initial concepts in this line can be viewed by clicking on the "WORK" tab and looking for the "LaVida Homes" prefix in the project name.  We also provide a discount (at our discretion) to clients seeking smaller homes, who are willing to have the designs then included in the LaVida Homes suite of designs.
